Happy St. Patrick Day!
Have you ever wondered why in the St. Patrick's Day all goes green?

Why a shamrock is symbolized in this day?
(If as I suppose, you already know it... well you can jump ahead!) :D
Saint Patrick's Day is an Irish holiday, the Saint is the patron of Ireland and he is celebrated on March 17, the day when he died. The legend says that St. Patrick used a shamrock to illustrate to the Celtic the Christian doctrine of the Trinity.
Celebrating St. Patrick's Day is not just for the Irish!

In England, Canada and USA there are parades, concerts, people wear green, the restaurants serve a special green menù and in some cities the rivers are dyed green.

Vi siete mai chiesti perchè, nel giorno di S. Patrizio tutto si tinge di verde? E perchè mai un trifoglio simboleggia questa giornata?
In realtà il Saint Patrick's Day ha origini irlandesi. San Patrizio, è infatti il patrono dell'Irlanda e viene festeggiato il 17 marzo, giorno in cui morì il Santo. La leggenda dice che San Patrizio utilizzò un trifoglio per illustrare ai Celti il concetto cristiano di Trinità.

Learn a trade and it will stand you in good stead - Impara l'arte e mettila da parte

Once, when I was little, my grandmother used to tell me: "Learn a trade and it will stand you in good stead" .. she told me in dialect, but the meaning was just that. So during the summer, when I went on holiday with my family, in a small and quiet (very quiet) mountain town in the South of Italy, I learned art of making the soap, learning to "spignattare" (making something in the kitchen), to make hams, I learned to grow vegetables and raise potatoes, to extract the oil from olives, to collect fresh eggs in the hen house being careful not to be attacked by the hens (some years later I learn how a chicken can be hypnotized... but I explain it next time...) and I learned also even more creative things for example how to crochet and make firewood for the Winter!
Firewood for the Winter was not within the more creative things I did during the summer, but I was going to do because I could collect wood waste from branches to create pendants that I painted and transform in wonderful necklaces.
And now when I smell the wood, I remember those happy memories

I have recently created new stamps. I tried to create a versatile designs, so I can use them in all the pages of my scrapbooks.

But the scent of wood... it remains in my heart forever.

One of the experiences I've had recently has been to be able to follow the stages of processing and realization of my little creatures.

From a simple wood slab to a small embellishments.

 

Last summer I had created some wooden embellishments for Think Spring: speech bubbles 365 days and Destination Unknown and small Polaroid frames : the first one is my favorite set and the second one is for those who love tiny hearts. Unfortunately they were limited edition, so I wanted to restock these items for those who had not received what they have requested to me. Soon you will find them again in the shop. New stamps, badges buttons and wooden circles are already in the shop.
I like to create. 

And my grandmother was right about "Learn a trade and it will stand you in good stead"

Learning is its own reward ;)

ITALIANO:

Quando ero piccola mia nonna mi diceva: "impara l'arte e mettila da parte"... beh, me lo diceva in dialetto, ma il significato era proprio questo. Così durante l'estate, quando andavo in vacanza con la mia famiglia, in un tranquiiiiiiiiiillissimo paese dell'entroterra abruzzese, imparavo l'arte della saponificazione, imparavo a spignattare, a fare prosciutti, a coltivare l'orto e raccogliere le patate, ad estrarre l'olio dalle olive, a raccogliere le uova nel pollaio senza farmi massacrare le caviglie dalle galline (da adolescente poi scoprii che era possibile anche ipnotizzarle...ma ve lo racconto un'altra volta). Imparavo anche cose più creative come l'uncinetto e fare la legna da utilizzare durante l'inverno! Forse il "fare la legna" non rientrava nelle cose più creative che facevo durante l'estate, ma io andavo a fare legna perchè potevo raccogliere gli scarti dei rami per poter creare dei ciondoli che poi dipingevo e appendevo al collo. Ed ora quando sento il profumo del legno, mi ricordo proprio di quei momenti.
Per quanto riguarda l'imparare l'arte per poi metterla da parte... beh, seguo ancora oggi le sagge parole della nonna. Cerco di sconfinare al di là di ciò che sono in grado di fare. Magari sbaglio, però è davvero divertente cimentarsi in nuove cose.
Come imparare a confezionare bottoni, spille, calamite non è una cosa complicata ma è sempre pur un'arte. Mi sono anche cimentata nella realizzazione di nuovi timbri. Ho cercato di creare disegni abbastanza versatili, in modo da poterli utilizzare in pagine dei miei album e per diversi temi.Ma il profumo del legno, quello mi rimane nel cuore.E una delle esperienze che ho avuto di recente è stata quella di poter seguire le fasi di lavorazione e realizzazione delle mie piccole creature.Da una semplice lastra di legno a piccole decorazioni.L'estate scorsa avevo sperimentato l'inserimento di alcuni articoli in legno nello shop. Si trattava di fumetti in legno 365 days e Destination Unknown e piccole cornici Polaroid: il primo è il mio set preferito e il secondo è per gli amanti dei cuoricini. Purtroppo erano ad edizione limitata, così ho voluto riassortire questi articoli per chi non era stato accontentato con la spedizione. Presto li troverete nuovamente nello shop di Think Spring. I nuovi timbri, i badge buttons e i cerchi in legno sono già sullo scaffale. Tutti con un unico design. ;)

E la mia nonna aveva ragione sull'imparare l'arte e metterla da parte ;)

I look like a Christmas elf

Each of us perceives Christmas in a different way. Some can not wait to arrive starting to tinker with glitter and decorating the home in early October. Others prefer to get away from this moment of frenzy of feasts, where crowds and chaos reigns in every Christmas market and the smell of cinnamon is felt everywhere.
I belong to a middle category: I love Christmas and its markets, glitters, sparkles and everything shine in this season, baking cookies galore, the scent of pine and cinnamon-flavored everywhere. I don't like the frenzy transmitted by the people around me and those hateful songs "fa la la la" repeated ad infinitum ... ah yes the time flies too fast and that does not allow you to do what you want.
What about you?
I like Christmas because in this period the brain does not remain idle for too long and give birth to more creative ideas throughout the year!
That is why at this time I feel like an elf to work.
By the way, any of you have a smart recipe for making candy mou?
In the previous post I told you a few little news. Now that everything is ready at last I can show you the pictures you can see above.

 Ognuno di noi percepisce il Natale in modo diverso. Alcuni non vedono l'ora che arrivi iniziando ad armeggiare con glitter e addobbando la casa ai primi di ottobre. Altri preferirebbero scappare da questo momento di frenesia delle feste, dove folla e caos regna in ogni mercatino e l'odore di cannella si fa sentire ovunque.
Io appartengo ad una categoria di mezzo: adoro il Natale, i mercatini, tutto ciò che brilla in questo periodo, sfornare biscotti a iosa, il profumo di pino e il gusto di cannella in ogni dove. Non amo la frenesia trasmessa dalla gente che mi circonda e quelle odiose canzoncine "fa la la la" ripetute all'infinito... ah sì il tempo che vola troppo infretta e che non ti permette di fare quanto vorresti (ma forse questa ultima cosa accade anche per il resto dell'anno).
Voi?
Mi piace il Natale anche perchè in questo periodo il cervello non resta in stand-by troppo a lungo e si partoriscono le idee più creative di tutto l'anno!
Ecco perchè in questo periodo mi sento come un elfo al lavoro.
A proposito: qualcuno di voi ha una ricetta furba per fare le caramelle al mou?
Nel precedente post vi avevo anticipato qualche piccola novità. Ora che finalmente tutto è pronto posso mostrarvi qualche foto.

Tutto questo e tantissimo altro in aggiunta sugli scaffali da qui al week end.

Italiano: Questo blog è rimasto silenzioso troppo a lungo, ma ora, con l'arrivo dell'estate posso mostrarvi qualche anticipazione delle nuove collezioni. Il tema sarà l'estate, la vacanza, il viaggio ma anche i 365 giorni dell'anno.

Nei prossimi giorni pubblicherò più foto e vi mostrerò come i nuovi prodotti potranno essere utilizzati.

Why Think Spring?

Why Think Spring?
My last Italian name in English means Spring and Spring is also my favourite season. I love this season and its changes. I like the smell of Spring: fresh air, fresh earth, the wonderful blooming and the colors of flowers are everywhere.
I could think Spring all year round!
I like colors and love handmade goodies. I know how funny is adding an element of hand made to your next card, layout, or favorite project. 
That's the reason that I started the Think Spring Shop.
My passion is creating handmade embellishments and every my new project begins with selected color palettes, using the best material and making strong attention to details because customer satisfaction is very important to me.
I should point out that these products are not manufactured with sophisticated equipment but are totally handmade, crafted! Will then be easy to find the difference between a package and another.
I hope these products will be helpful to you and they will give a special touch to your everyday projects.
